"Obedience to God and His word, is based on Trust." |
Just Trust Me! |
Every week, in my engagement with people, I sit a cross coffee tables or my office desk, my heart racing as I share and hear stories that shape my faith. But last week, I found myself reflecting on a conversation with Christo, a dear friend and solar-energy engineer. In one of our conversations, we talked about his technology and bringing the solar tech to Namibian—yet when I asked him to explain every technical twist, he simply smiled and said, “I can’t boil down ten years of study in one sitting - Just follow my lead.” He was really saying, just trust me.
"Trust is fostered in the moments and time we create together."
Isn’t that exactly what Jesus asks of us in John 14?
Standing on the edge of His greatest trial, He leans into His friends and says, “Let not your hearts be troubled. Believe in God; believe also in me” (John 14:1). He promises a home, a purpose, a guiding light—“I am the way, and the truth, and the life” (v. 6)—and invites us into an intimate partnership, not an academic lecture.
In our daily activities—emails piling up, kids tugging at our sleeves, bills that demand attention—it’s easy to treat faith like a to-do list. We try to measure God’s presence: “Show me the ROI (return of investment),” we demand, like Philip. But Jesus reminds us that proximity changes everything: “Whoever has seen me has seen the Father” (v. 9). Just three years of walking, talking, and sharing meals with Jesus were enough—if only we pause to recognize who we’re with.
Today, lean in, when having your morning coffee, whisper the words that brought Thomas peace: “I trust You.” On your way to work, in the taxi, or the lift at work; remember that every step you take, is paved by His promise: “I go to prepare a place for you” (v. 2).
Like following Christo’s expert guidance into solar solutions, following Jesus means stepping out in faith, trusting His heart before understanding every detail. He will never fail you, not will He ever leave you.
Let His life “rub off” on you through intimate moments of prayer, worship, and simple obedience.
Watch how the ordinary rhythms of your day become extraordinary expressions of His love for you.
